Help Springfield Twp Rotary Club Support Springfield Twp!

All proceeds from this Booster will go to support projects locally and internationally that Springfield Township Rotary Club dedicates their time and resources too. Please be a part of our motto, “Service Above Self”.

More about this campaign

The Rotary Club of Springfield Township is the local chapter of Rotary International. Adhering to the motto “Service Above Self” the Rotary Club of Springfield Township, is a group of local business leaders, retirees, and others in the community that gather weekly for fellowship, learning and to discuss community projects on a local and international level. The Springfield Township Rotary Club Tuesdays at 12:15PM at the Sandy Run Country Club. All are welcome to attend a meeting to see what we’re all about. The club number is 5454 and it’s a part of the 7430 Rotary District.

Examples of some past Service Projects in our community include: Walking Trail, Bridge and Gazebo at Cisco Park, Contributions to Little League Fields in the Twp, $20,000 renovation of Flourtown Erdenheim War Memorial, Banners on Township Lamp Posts thru out the Twp, Numerous School Awards, and Free Fireworks to the community each year!

But we need our communities support. Each year we run the Community Carnival in June and a Fruit Sale in the winter months. Unfortunately, our Fruit Supplier has cancelled our fruit this year and we need to supplement that loss of fundraising dollars to continue the good work we do. Please consider purchasing a shirt and supporting Springfield Township Rotary! 🙂

Busy Meeting Celebrates Past Projects and The History of a Local School

February 27, 2014 by Tim Ernst Leave a Comment

John Hayden from Antonelli Institute was the speaker recently at a Rotary Club Meeting where he explained the Institute is celebrating 75 years of history teaching students the visual arts. Below is Club President George Schaefer and John Hayden. The Rotarians also presented a check for $1000.00 to Face to Face, a local facility and organization that offers a Dining Room, a nurse managed Health Center, a Legal Center, a Social Services Center and Children’s Summer Camps and After School programs.  We also have a Washeteria where people can take a hot shower and receive a new set of clothes.  Face to Face serves 2,500 annually and has been a stable presence in Germantown for over 20 years. They also recognized Honorary Rotarian Joe Bonus for always being willing to help in Rotary Projects.

More Information:

The club recognized Bob Ryan for donating the chicken for the MLK Day lunch at Face to Face. Because of the efforts of Mike Creeden from Sandy Run Country Club, most of the food for the luncheon was donated. This freed up the money that the club allocated for the luncheon to be able to present a $1,000 check to Face to Face. Additionally, the club was able to donated 2,000 toiletry items for the washeteria.

Because of his monumental work on the Springfield Rotary projects over the past years, the Rotary Club presented an Honorary Membership to Joe Bonus.

Program: John Hayden, Director of the Antonelli School of Photography located in Springfield Township presented information about the school, its programs and most of all, its successful alumni. The school was founded in 1938 by Severo Antonelli. His work is exhibited in the Woodmere Art Museum. The school is accredited by the Association of Career Schools and Colleges and authorized to award Associate Degrees. Its distinguished alumni include those whose works have been featured on Sports Illustrated, Time Magazine and National Geographic to name just a few. The school motto is “Develop Passion-Design the Future.”
