More about this campaign
Once again, The Springfield Township Rotary Club rolled up their sleeves and participated in Martin Luther King Day, by doing what they do best, “Service Above Self”. Mike Creeden and his kitchen staff at Sandy Run Country Club prepared a wonderful meal for Face to Face in Germantown. Joe Bonus of Bonus Marketing was a great help today with transport as were Rotary members who served the meal at Face to Face. Following the meal at Face to Face, Rotarian Claudia Campbell of Tabitha Harrier Concierge drove to Arcadia to pick-up donated items and then delivered them to Face to Face. To date our toiletry drive items total 2,141 and Rotary will have additional items for Face to Face during the month of January due to the generosity of the Springfield Democrats who also collected.
Springfield Township Rotary Club welcomed home their Outbound Exchange Student, Springfield Resident Jenny Lukoff. Jenny has spent the last year in Belgium, speaking Dutch and attending classes. At the meeting, Jenny explained to the Rotary Club how the experience has impacted her and influenced her. While abroad she was afforded the opportunity to also travel to England, France and Italy as well as numerous other excursions. She will be attending the University of Vermont this fall. If you have interest in hosting an inbound exchange student or have a student interested in studying abroad please reach out to the Springfield Township Rotary Club.

Springfield Township Rotary Club is very proud to announce that one of their own has received International Recognition. Rotarian Joy Zwicker, who has been with the Springfield Rotary Club since 1996, has always been an important member of the Club. She has served as President, Treasurer, and as an Assistant District Governor. On Tuesday, March 25th, the Rotary welcomed current District Governor Frank Romano, Assistant District Governor Bruce Dearnley, and Past District Governor Tony Jannetta. Joy Zwicker was surprised with being awarded Rotary International’s Avenues of Service Citation for Individual Rotarians. The award recognizes that the strength of the Rotary ideal is founded on the service carried out by club members worldwide, and this citation provides a means for Rotary Clubs to personally recognize a member for outstanding efforts in the five Avenues of Service. The Avenues include; Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service, and New Generations Service. Zwicker was also awarded her third Paul Harris Fellow. The Paul Harris Fellow is awarded to honor Rotarians for generous contributions to The Rotary Foundation which are essential to securing and growing Rotary programs throughout the world. Clubs can also recognize Rotarians to express their gratitude for members individual commitment. Pictured Left to Right: Past District Governor Tony Jannetta and Rotarian Joy Zwicker.
