62nd Annual Changeover Dinner Welcomes New Board and Thanks Past Leaders

As the new leadership takes over the club for the upcoming year, Rotarians gather to celebrate the past and look forward to the year ahead of Service Above Self. Changeover took place on 6/20/2017.
Changeover 2015
Members of the Springfield Township Rotary Club came together for an evening of celebration marking their 58th Annual Changeover Dinner; a night to honor the outgoing Board Members and welcome the New Board Members. Also taking place during the evening, the awarding of $1,000 to Face to Face in Germantown, a shelter that the club has adopted. Mary Kay Meeks of Face to Face accepted the check, and was humbled by Rotary’s offer to serve a meals to 250 patrons this coming August. The meal will be served in honor of Beatrice Gardner, an Honorary Member of the club who recently passed away. The evening also celebrated the awarding of Paul Harris Fellows, Rotary’s highest honor, to a handful of Rotarians who exemplified “Service Above Self”. Recipients were Robert Scott III, Michael Creeden, Walt Long, Amanda Helwig, and Dan Helwig. The evening was topped off with the pinning of the incoming 2015-2016 President T. Scott Kreilick who currently is also serving as the President of the Springfield Township Historical Society.
Changeover Dinner 2010
The new board and new President Jack Norrie were welcomed and formally installed to lead the Rotary Club in 2010 and 2011. President Jim Pearce transferred power and the President’s pin to Jack Norrie. Also Assistant District Governor Joy Zwicker present a check from the club to End Polio Now – a Rotary Intiative for which the club worked all year long to raise funds, and recognized Bob McGrory for his work in that initiative. Held on a beautiful early summer evening, the event was partially held on the new outdoor deck of Sandy Run Country Club’s new clubhouse facilities.
Changeover Dinner 2009
Changeover happens in June/July when the outgoing club president and the board of directors is honored and the new president and board are welcomed. The pinning of President’s pin takes place between the outgoing President (for 2009 this was Steve Schagrin) to the new President Jim Pearce. Also President’s awards are given to members who have been outstanding in their work and commitment to Rotary values.
