Santa “Dan” and Fellow Rotarians Help Fight Hunger

Our own Dan Helwig, suited up as Saint Nick along with Nancy McGettigan as Mrs. Claus helped bring joy to kids of all ages at the Craft Fair at Flourtown Fire Company. Joined by fellow Rotarians Dan and company lead by the tireless efforts of Claudia Campbell collected much needed food for Philabundance. The Food Drive continues and you can drop off your non-perishable food items at the following locations (below photos) until January.

NON-PERISHABLE ITEMS ONLY

Choose products that are in boxes, cans or plastic bottles and that do not have to be refrigerated.

Bread and baked goods are not suitable because of their short shelf life. Items should be recently purchased and in good condition.

Meet Santa and Help Fight Hunger

Santa Claus is coming to town and we are officially kicking off our Food Drive for Philabundance. Rotary is taking its Photo with Santa experience to the Craft Fair at the Flourtown Fire Company. We ask for you to help your children learn the true meaning of the Holidays by bringing some non-perishable food items to help those less fortunate and help support volunteers of Fire Company by browsing over 40 vendors at the Craft Fair.

The Food Drive will run from November 8 until Martin Luther King Day on Monday, January 16, 2012. The Ladies Auxiliary of Flourtown Fire Company Craft Fair will act as proud host to the kick-off event of the Rotary Club of Springfield Township’s Food Drive. Santa will make an appearance at noon and will be available for photos. We ask that you bring some non-perishable food items that Rotary will be taking to Philabundance. The goal is to collect over 10,000 food items to help local food pantries and kitchens throughout the Delaware Valley to help alleviate hunger.
