2nd Annual Wine and Beer Tasting Fun for All

On Thursday, May 16, hundreds gathered for the Second Annual Rotary Wine and Beer Tasting at the Flourtown Country Club. Raffles and a Silent Auction complimented vendors from area wineries, restaurants, beer distributors and brewers serving up samples of their wines and brews. Fort Washington’s School of Rock provided a lively accompaniment of classic rock and ballets as the crowd enjoyed a lovely evening overlooking the club’s golf course. All proceeds from this event benefit the programs conducting locally and internationally by the Springfield Township Rotary Club and is the groups largest fundraiser of the year, replacing the carnival held for many years. The club thanks everyone who came out to make the event a success and all the vendors and sponsors for their support. Vendors included: Chaddsford Winery, Pio Wines, Blue Mountain Vineyards, Cardinal Hollow Winery, Magerks Pub and Grill, Flourtown Beverage, Well Crafted Beer Co.

Director of Nyaka School Updates Rotarians

Springfield Rotary Club was pleased to welcome Barbara Kroberger, Director for the Nyaka School, who shared with the Club her recent travels to Uganda to an AIDS Orphanage. The Springfield Rotary Club donated enough funds to build a home, latrine, and kitchen hut for a grandmother. In Africa, an entire generation has been wiped out due to AIDS, leaving grandmothers to care for a generation of children. Ms. Kroberger and others were able to raise $30,000 to build 10 new homes for the grandmother. The Nyaka School also supports primary schools and medical clinics for the community’s they service. Rotary Carnival & Fireworks Return Bigger & Better in 2012

The Springfield Rotary Club will once again holds it annual Community Carnival. Last year’s carnival was a great success and was capped off with a fabulous Fireworks Display.

This year we plan on having a great week and again capping off the carnival with an even better fireworks display on June 30 at dusk. June 26 – 30, 2012 the action starts at 6PM each night.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY ARE WRISTBAND NIGHTS – $16.00 for ALL rides all night.

Springfield H.S. Interact Strolls for a Good Cause

Carrie Quaco, President and Carolyn Messer, Secretary of the Springfield Township High School Interact Club presented the details of their club’s upcoming fund raiser: The 2^nd Annual Spartan Stroll. The fund raiser is being held on Saturday, November 19^th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Springfield Township High School football field. The proceeds benefit the Progeria Research Foundation. The day will include a walk/stroll, face painting, cheerleading demo, balloon artist, hot chocolate, hot dogs and pretzels and a visit from the Flourtown Fire Company.

Minimal cost – Adults $12.00, 9^th through 12^th graders $10, Kindergarten to 8^th graders $5 and Pre-K and under are free. So please come out to support the Interactors as you enjoy a nice community event with a purpose. Interact is a Rotary Sponsored service group for young adults.

Thank You for Supporting Our Annual Carnival

Thanks to you it was one of our best Carnivals ever! We had perfect weather, big crowds, discount nights and, of course, crowd-pleasing FIREWORKS! Thanks to the hard work of many Rotarians and their families the Springfield Rotary raises a lot of much needed funds for its continuous community projects! We ended our Rotary year with a bang! Thank you for your support.

5th Annual Rotary Carnival Runs June 28 – July 2, 2011

Food, Fun and Fireworks! The 2011 Rotary Club of Springfield Township Carnival kicks off on June 28 and runs until July 2 in the parking lot of Springfield Township High School.

NIGHTLY 6 – 10 PM

Springfield Township High School – 1801 E. Paper Mill Road, Erdenheim, PA 19038

There will be plenty of rides, games and food for all.

Please join the Springfield Township Rotary club as it hosts the 5^th annual community Rotary Carnival. The net proceeds goes right back into the community for the many Rotary sponsored service and community projects like: DARE, Springfield High School and Phil-Mont Christian Academy Interact Clubs, Bethlehem Pike and Oreland Street Banner project, many student awards and other community projects. The two main International Projects the club sponsors annually is Shelter Box and the Polio Eradication projects. A Shelter Box will be physically present on site during the carnival for the community to view. Our club has sponsored many boxes of which have been deployed to the natural disasters in Columbia, Nepal, Kenya and Japan. Shelter box donations will be accepted throughout the carnival.

The Rotary Carnival will be held at the Springfield High School parking lot from Tuesday, June 28 through Saturday July 2. Parking is free. Hours are from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm nightly. $15 wristbands will be honored on Wednesday and Thursday nights only. A new feature of this year’s Rotary Carnival is the addition of FIREWORKS on Saturday night around 9:30 / 10:00 pm. Donations will be greatly appreciated and humbly accepted!

Oscars Amusement Company (same company used for the Holy Martyrs carnival) will provide the rides and food stations. Local bands will perform and music will be played throughout each night. We are so fortunate to have First Niagra Bank, Flourtown as our main sponsor and the Copernicus Society (Piszek family) as our secondary sponsor. We thank each and every one of our sponsors for their commitment to help Rotary make the Carnival a huge success!
