Rotary’s Donation to Pitch In for Baseball Makes a Difference
Tom Schoenfelder, Operations Manager for Pitch In For Baseball recently shared the following news with the club:
“Last Saturday’s drop-off was a huge success. Thank you for the Rotary Club’s support again this year. The children who received the equipment were very appreciative of the donation. I’ve attached a picture of Bill with the kids from the Strawberry Mansion Athletic Association. Derrick Ford is the league President and has promised me that he will send some pictures of the children playing with the equipment.”

Springfield Rotary Club Gives Major Donations
The Rotary Club of Springfield Township gave two large donations to worthy causes this week. First, a check for $1,000 to Pitch In For Baseball. A program that now stretches around the world providing gently used or new baseball equipment to children. They judge their progress, one smile at a time. Also visiting the Rotary Club of Springfield was Barbara Kroberger, wife of Rotarian Jeff Kroberger who will be traveling to Uganda this summer. The Rotary Club of Springfield Township established a relationship in 2005 with the Nyaka Aids Orphanage, having already helped on many levels including the installation of a water tower for clean water. Kroberger will be traveling to provide funds for new housing for the grandmothers that now look over a generation of children whose parents have died from AIDS. Each home costs $3,000 to build. The Club contributed for one of these homes. Pictured Left to Right: President Linda Silva, Barbara Kroberger, and Treasurer Joy Zwicker.
